Join final year students of the RMIT Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing (PWE) in a comic night of literary debate as they bring together an all-star debating team to decide, once and for all:
Are adults who read Young Adult literature just big babies?
The debating team, hailing from Melbourne’s esteemed literary circles, includes;
Yvette Sittrop, editor at The Five Mile Press,
Karen Tayleur,Young Adult author and editor at The Five Mile Press,
Danielle Binks, Young Adult author,
Braiden Asciak, bookseller at Book Bonding and writer,
Rebecca Varcoe, founder and editor of Funny Ha Ha magazine,
Stephanie Holt, PWE Lecturer at RMIT, and
Claire Sullivan, PWE student and comedian.
This event forms part of the PWE professional development program that prepares students for their future writing careers.
The RMIT Professional Writing and Editing program has had a long and proud tradition of producing Australia’s future editors, writers and promoters of Australian literature. Graduates have become successful authors, publishing books, articles, poetry and stories, and winning major awards and fellowships. Others have gone on to start their own successful business and entrepreneurial projects.
