Rob Snarski released his debut solo album in July, after 25 years fronting acclaimed Australian band The Blackeyed Susans.
Produced by Rob and longtime band-mate and collaborator Dan Luscombe with Yikesville studio boss Shane O’Mara, Wounded Bird foregoes the lush arrangements of The Blackeyed Susans for a stripped-back and intimate sound palette.
New Zealander Aldous Harding has just released her first album on Spunk Records. It has received critical acclaim across the ditch and is already winning attention from the likes of Mess & Noise in Australia, their review describing Harding's voice as "arresting…the kind that stops hearts, stops men in their tracks, stops chatty crowds silent".
We actually hosted Harding in July for a brief set and it proved to be one of the most captivating 20 minutes we've had at Folk Club all year courtesy of her disarmingly charming banter and otherworldly voice.
This promises to be a very special show.
