Frank Yamma (Single Launch) & Casey Driessen (USA)
17th Sep 2014

Presenter: The Melbourne Folk Club

Event Duration: 135 minutes
Frank Yamma grew up in Central Australia, the son of Isaac Yamma, an early proponent of singing Western style songs in traditional language. He is a Pitjantjatjara man, who speaks five languages and while quietly spoken off stage, he is a devastatingly beautiful live performer. This show will see Frank release the first single from his fifth album Uncle, due for release in October. It will be incredible to hear Frank's voice in such an intimate setting.
Casey Driessen is a Grammy-nominated fiddle player who is touring the globe promoting his new album The Singularity. He uses a loop-pedal to insane effect, in fact every sound on his new album is created by the looping of fiddle and voice. Casey has played with some of the greats including Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott, Zac Brown Band, Bela Fleck, Steve Earle, and Chris Thile and has also forged a successful solo career with three albums to his name and a captivating live show that has taken him around the world over the past decade.
