About the performers
Zikora: These three women play piano, drums and harp, making strange and wonderful music. Talia Browne - percussion and vocals, Emily Rosner - Harp and vocals, Ellisa Scott-Keys - Flute and Vocals
Little Foot Folk: A Melbourne- based folk/ country /ukulele duo, with sweet harmonies influenced by some sounds of the sixties and seventies. In this folk duo's newly emerging career they have supported both American protest singer David Rovics and award winning singer-songwriter Enda Kenny. They have played at rallies across Melbourne in support of refugee rights and to protest against the irresponsible mining and deforestation of countries such as El Salvador and the Philippines. Their beautiful harmonies and thought provoking lyrics give a voice to the oppressed and forgotten and raise awareness for the important social issues of our time.
Mesopotamia Group: A group of Iraqi Australians playing the folk music of Iraq on traditional instruments. With the vision of reviving the Iraqi Music in a beautiful country, Australia, Mesopotamia Group started painting their vision in 2006 when few musicians got together in a Garage, and started practising few songs. Fast Forward to 2013, Mesopotamia Group had successfully got its name out in the Wild Land of Music and had participated in over 20 Music Festivals, including taking center stage at the famous Melbourne Music Hall, Hamer Hall. Till this day, Mesopotamia Group strives to share Iraqi Music within different communities and festivals to bring joy and revive the true spirit of Iraqi music that brings people together
The Victorian Trade Union Choir: is the musical voice of the labour and trade union movement in Victoria: approximately 30 committed trade union members who believe in the power of song to unify workers and to connect with the broader community. They enjoy and encourage comradeship in song.
