Melbourne’s Tobias Hengeveld launches his anticipated new release The Daylight Express joined by a stellar full-band including Ash Davies, Andy Papadopoulos and Matt Dixon, plus guests!

Named after the daytime rail service that ran from Melbourne to Sydney, The Daylight Express is a dynamic ride of moody rock tunes, down to dark ballads that draw you in a bit closer.  Telling stories that feel distinctly local, the album moves like a great road-trip, marking an understanding of emptiness and distance in parts reminiscent of some classic Australian albums of the 1980’s. Although these songs are perhaps not so much about travelling as they are about someone who is stuck in one place, observing the things that come and leave, left only to imagine what might be there beyond the horizon, all that distance away.
