Get ready to get down!
Major Tom & the Atoms are an explosive rhythm’n’blues orchestra featuring Little Red’s original baritone crooner, ‘Major’ Tom Hartney. After 6 years touring the world and beyond with Little Red, Major Tom returned to his roots and assembled a powerhouse sextet hell-bent on rockin’ blues and big bad jungle grooves. Major Tom & the Atoms take their cues and clues from The Rolling Stones, The Doors and The Black Keys, concocting an addictive brew of honky-tonk blues, howlin’ growlin’ jungle grooves with a shot of classic straight up rock’n’roll. The Prayerbabies – spreading lemon-butter harmonies over toasted guitars, with double-choc bass and drums on the site, the magnificent four – Ian Birdwheel-Frights, Paul Dalby, Dan Harvey and Nick Thorpe concoct a heady brew of country, blues and gospel, washed down with a snifter of latin, disco, rock, pop and whatever else happens to be on offer at the time. Whether performing at a festival with 30-voice gospel choir South of the River, administering an overdosey-doh to a crowded inner-city pub; or luring party goers of all ages onto the dance floor, The Prayerbabies inevitably win over their audiences with their sly humour and previously inconceivable arrangements of oddly familiar songs. 8 Bit Love are an electronic/dance band from Melbourne with a few cool trophies under their belt, such as an APRA Songwriters Award and the VicRocks Get Equipped Grant. The band have been tucked away for the last few months letting their creative juices flow into what will be their sophomore EP, In 3D.With a live show that can be described as a boisterous frenzy of cow-bell playing, screaming and dancing, their tunes are sure to get stuck in people’s heads.CLICK HERE to find out more about 8 Bit Love
