The Cultural Flows films are two short documentary films produced by the Wadi Wadi and Mutthi Mutthi Indigenous Nations in their Traditional Country: alongside the Murray and Murrumbidgee rivers in Australia's Murray-Darling Basin.
The films evoke Traditional Owners passionate sense of responsibility to their country. In journeys through wetlands, ancient Red Gum forests and sacred sites, the Mutthi Mutthi and Wadi Wadi people highlight the urgent need for greater recognition of Indigenous water rights.
Cultural Flows captures these voices as they call for Traditional Owner involvement in decisions regarding the land they know, whilst highlighting their inherent responsibilities to a place they belong.
What does it mean to watch your place change around you?
What would it mean to see it flourish once more?
It all comes back to water.
Join us for the Melbourne Premiere of the Cultural Flows Films: two powerfully-shot documentaries that explore Indigenous Australian’s deep connections to the rivers and waterways in their Country.
