Ladies and gentlemen, it was all the way back in 2004 that Scott Edgar and Cam Bruce put together their first benefit night for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. 2004! We're talkin' Myspace, the Athens Olympics, George W. Bush! Ah, so many memories...

That first night was a tribute to the great Ray Charles. Over the intervening years a bewildering variety of brilliant artists have been celebrated in turn, and each night has been a roof raiser: Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Bob Dylan, They Might Be Giants, Prince, David Bowie, Carole King, The Cure, Queen. The ASRC Benefit nights have featured memorable appearances from Lior, Clare Bowditch, Tim Minchin, Angie Hart, Rebecca Barnard, Eddie Perfect, Tripod, Emma Donovan, Elana Stone and countless more.

Well, we've made it to the tenth year, so it's time to party, and you know what? We wanna be startin' somethin'. We wanna rock with you, all night. We want you to shake your body down to the ground, as easy as ABC. Can you feel it? You are not alone. Yes, for the 10th ASRC Benefit, it's time to slide one hand into a sequinned glove and celebrate the music of the peerless Michael Joseph Jackson.

From his childhood brilliance to his world-conquering solo career, the abundance of material is a little daunting - but on Saturday, April 13, in the benefit's traditional late-night slot, a glittering array of special guest singers will deliver their very best renditions of classics from the MJ back catalogue. There'll be infectious dancefloor fillers, ingenious reinventions, heartbreaking ballads and irresistible grooves galore!

On April 13, don't blame it on the sunshine! Don't blame it on the moonlight! It don't matter if you're black or white. It doesn't matter who's wrong or right. Just ease on down the road to Bella Union for 2013's star-spangled ASRC Benefit - it's sure to be a thriller, thriller night.
