Event Duration: 180 minutes
An evening of sweet harmonies juxtaposed by introspective lyricism visits Bella Union as Bloke-Folksters and recent Unearthed winners The Ellis Collective join together in a melancholic musical congress with The Secret Lunch, the beautiful bastard child of Stephen Taberner (arch-conspirator behind the Spooky Men's Chorale) and Emma Jasmine Kelly and Sam King (half of festival circuit favourites Mr Fibby).
The Secret Lunch are a luminous and slyly humorous musical act with Stephen’s original songs reclining in a magnificent musical sofa of brooding double bass work, with lashings of judicious guitar, strings and sweet harmonies of Sam King and Emma Kelly.
Richard Kingsmill praised The Ellis Collective’s "classic Australian sound" when they won Triple J Unearthed, with their eclectic arrangements underscore their ability to seamlessly blend and borrow from a diverse range of styles. Wielding an ambidextrous musicality they create a sound that is undeniably unique and unmistakably Australian.
