1.10PM Hissy Loco

Hissy Loco
sings songs written in the aftermath of happiness.

Hissy Loco has appeared at the Melbourne Ukulele Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, magazine launches, shop openings, children's parties, weddings, and Midsumma Carnival.

Her EP Corners of My Heart is available now on iTunes.

1.40PM The Three Sisters

The Three Sisters have burst forth from the loins of the Ruby Bloomers Womens Circus to entertain with their own unique brand of wacky fun. They sing about beauty, they sing about truth, and they sing about chickens being tortured in sheds with no breezes. They are a regular on the Blue Mountains circuit and have performed at local fundraisers and community festivals, including IronFest, Winter Magic and the Blue Mountains Blues & Roots Festival. So bring out the funny hats, put on your feather boa and spend some time in the presence of these fabulously frocked females!

2.10PM Urban Ukes

Melbourne based Urban Ukes is a collaboration between Nelle May and John Ferguson. Nelle and John present an entertaining blend of material that show off the full versatility of the compact, yet beautiful, ukulele. Urban Ukes have a broad repertoire that includes unique covers, catchy originals and if you're lucky, some beautiful instrumentals.

2.40PM Ukulele Republic of Canberra (URoC)

URoC is Canberra’s oldest community Ukulele performance group.  We play and sing across a wide range of music – folk to rock, country to soul, blues to blue Hawaii.  Founded in 2007 we now have over 100 local members and have played at many performances around Canberra as well as at the Cairns and Melbourne Ukulele Festivals.   We also have other instruments in our line up from time to time including percussion, harps, kazoos and mandolins. We meet three times a month and run beginners and intermediate classes and workshops.

6.15PM M.U.K.

Since bursting upon the televisions of the nation in February 2006 with a 50 strong group of ukers of all ages performing a rousing rendition of "Long Way to the Top" by ACDC, the MUK has seen the rise of ukulele in Australia like a musical tsunami! When we began planning our first MUK Big Band shows back in 2004 there was no other ukulele groups in the country and it was hard to find a decent uke for sale in any local stores. Of course it's a different picture now!

As in the beginning, the MUK is an open ukulele group and we have no restrictions for membership. We play at festivals, weddings, community gatherings, charity events, pubs, schools, chicken sheds, etc. Like most uke groups, our repetoire is a mix of old and new.

MUK is very proud to be a major financial supporter of the Melbourne Ukulele Festival since it's inception in 2010 and many of it's members give greatly of themselves to make the festival a reality!
