This show is a theatrical presentation of Mr Jimmy’s self-titled second album, to be released on vinyl and digital download. In this intimate setting, Mr Jimmy appears naked as a band.

The show tells the story of five young men rehearsing and recording contemporary folk music. In what sense can folk be contemporary? Is there any folk left? They talk of artistic sensibility and musical tradition. In the deepest sense, Mr Jimmy is folk music.

When Mr Jimmy plays rock’n’roll, he is playing folk music; when he plays blues, he is playing folk music; and when he plays quiet, he is playing folk music. 

This is a musical exploration of tradition and the cutting edge without mediation and without a stage. Featuring special guest performers, narration and pantomime.
