Event Duration: 60 minutes

Picture this: after years fighting liquor licensing laws, pokies and inner-city neighbour noise complaints, Melbourne’s live scene is forced to shut down forever.

There will be just one more gig – The Last Gig in Melbourne - before lights out and the final song of the night is the last song in the city.

Instead of drowning her sorrows, local rock-comedy-superstar Geraldine Quinn will be downing last drinks and rocking out live on stage in The Last Gig in Melbourne. She began this year with her hit show You’re the Voice: Songs for the Ordinary by an Anthemaniac at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, which won her a Golden Gibbo Award (Best Local Independent Production).

For The Last Gig In Melbourne, fronting a band of local award-winning rock and jazz musicians, Quinn presents a unique night of original songs inspired by the local live scene, within the local live scene every Friday night in November.

The Last Gig in Melbourne is an emotional, nostalgic, fun and cathartic journey about not appreciating a good thing until it’s gone.

Directed by Casey Bennetto

“A brilliant blend of sass, satire and pathos, delivered with an electrifying voice that can strip paint off the walls or retreat into haunting vulnerability.” The Age ***** (You’re The Voice, 2011)

The Last Gig in Melbourne is proudly supported by the City of Melbourne.
