Love is the essence of pure existence... Is it not?

Delve into a world where love is discovered, and witness what can come from a little persistence, a little obsession… and just a hint of overkill.

Artist Bio

Leanne graduated in 2008 from the University of Ballarat Arts Academy with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre. Her credits there included the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Lady Beatrice/Dance Captain in Once Upon a Mattress, Mrs Fairfax understudy in Jane Eyre and a self devised cabaret entitled Love Me xx.

Since graduating Leanne has played the roles of, Fay in The Boy Friend in 2009 and Rosella in Sugar in 2010 for The Production Company.  She has also performed her cabaret show, Love Me xx, in the finals of Short Sweet + Cabaret Festival 2009 and in the inaugural Melbourne Cabaret Festival in 2010.

A review in ArtsHub read… "a personal favourite was Leanne Marsland’s sadistic, yet intriguingly alluring love adage ‘Love Me xx’, where the performer writhed and hypnotised like one of Medusa’s deadly asps." Leanne then went on to create the full length version of her show, still entitled Love Me xx, which made its debut at The Butterfly Club in July of this year.

Prior to her studies in Ballarat, Leanne taught dance and choreographed extensively throughout Adelaide. Since then, highlights have included choreographing the musical Parade (University of Ballarat), choreographing/directing Best of Broadway (Style Music Theatre) and teaching/choreographing the Broadway Bound Music Theatre short courses (VCA). Leanne continues to pursue a career in the performing arts industry, including creating and performing her own work through various art forms. Leanne would also like to thank her family for their continued love and support.
