Stop. Traffick are a newly formed charity group headed by Ian Jones of RMIT. They are raising awareness of human trafficking and raising money for women affected by trafficking in SE Asia.
The Good Day Centre, Cambodia, houses some of these women. The centre provides the means for women to make beautiful traditional scarves (Kramas) which they sell to make money to live and improve the centre. The only problem is they have poorly maintained equipment and little know-how to sell their wares.
So join us for the launch of this worthy charity. Your ticket is all you need as all proceeds go to the Centre. Some very generous Musicians are coming to donate their time. They are:
The Tiger and Me, one of Melbourne’s premier up and coming artists. Their gypsy folk blend is theatrical and emotive with male/ female harmonies and a plethora of folk instruments.
Tash Parker is captivating; her guitar rings out across the crowd and together with her sweet soft vocals takes your soul on a journey through lost love, childhood in the Kimberley’s and finding love once again.
The Hazelman Brothers are Chris, Mick and Stu Hazelman. It must be something in the blood that produces stunning 3-part harmonies combined with intricate acoustic guitar layering. The result is a unique blend of melancholy-folk, acoustic-pop and country-fingerpicking.
