Are you ready to rock and/or roll with the hottest lycra-clad epic rock cover band in town? Then you’re coming to see SPANDEX BALLET with Geraldine Quinn for the most kick-arse Edinburgh Fringe fundraiser since…well, since Quinn’s CD launch last year!

Quinn is taking her Golden Gibbo Award nominated show Shut Up and Sing (sold out - Adelaide Fringe/Melbourne International Comedy Festival) to Edinburgh, and those shiny costumes don’t pay for themselves. So she’s gathering her favourite musicians and guests to recreate the triumph of this year’s MICF Festival Club: SPANDEX BALLET.

SPANDEX BALLET  are an epic rock cover band of gargantuan proportions lead by award-winning local musical-comedian Geraldine Quinn. They don’t adhere to a decade. They prescribe to a way of life – as long as that way of life includes huge hair, blistering guitar licks, impossible high notes and very, very tight trousers. Think Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Van Halen, Survivor, KISS, The Darkness, Queen, Bowie – and get your dancing shoes on. Spandex Ballet is a rare event and always leaves the room screaming for more.

Geraldine Quinn formed Spandex Ballet for a special Melbourne Fringe event in 2009 and is pestered constantly to reform. SPANDEX BALLET stormed the Festival Club during Comedy Festival for an unforgettable and searing set of rock which blasted a hole in the entire 2010 Festival Club run. That packed crowd at Hifi Bar in April witnessed guest vocalists Casey Bennetto, Geraldine Hickey, Tripod, Phil Nichol, Scared Weird Little Guys and Ali McGregor. Which illuminati from the comedy scene will betray a secret love for The Darkness and Bon Jovi this time around? (Hint: Casey Bennetto, Geraldine Hickey, Oliver Clark, Aurora Kurth, Ryan Coffey and more).

So don’t miss this rare opportunity to see arguably the best voice in the comedy industry wail with a white hot band, along with a brace of local guest comedians to make your head spin. Karaoke can kiss our spandexed hides!
