We take great pleasure in presenting the second of a series of dedicated music events at Bella Union. Coming up this month ...
Sal Kimber & The Rollin' Wheel
In defiance of the idea that it has all been done before ‘Sal Kimber & The Rollin’ Wheel’ offer a take on Australian Alt Country n Blues that is authentic and exciting. Sounding rural and rootsy, but with urban savvy, their live shows take you on a ride over terrains from cutback duets on the xylophone and banjo, to 5 piece Rock n Roll Alt Country tracks.
On old time inspired banjo, electric and acoustic guitar and vocals Sal Kimber is joined on stage by her band ‘The Rollin’ Wheel’- Beth (Buffy) Kimber on keys, piano accordion and xylophone, Trent McKenzie on electric and double bass, Cat Leahy on Drums and Jacob Cole on lead guitar and slide.
Charismatic and engaging, Sal and her band regale audiences with tales of ghost towns, rebels and romance. Together they have clocked up a swag of festivals, and rural and urban shows and made guest appearances on ABC TV’s ‘Sunday Arts show and Channel 10’s ‘State Focus’ program.

D. Rogers & They Who Ride The Tiger
Melbourne singer songwriter D. Rogers started out playing in bands around in the late nineties/early 00s. D. Rogers played bass, then guitar and keys in widely succesful band Klinger. But D. Rogers headed off to Japan in 2003, and while there proceeded to record two solo albums completely (all instruments) on his own. “The 14th Turn” was released in 2004, and “Neath The Dark of Fuses Blown”, was released in 2006. Both were independently produced. “Fuses Blown” received many accolades from many critics and was supported by a national tour. D. Rogers has supported Angie Hart, Skipping Girl Vinegar, Sophie Koh and many more.
To record his third album “Sparks On The Tarmac”, in 2008, D. Rogers teamed up with drummer Dave Kleynjans and Emma Heeney and a collection of friends from both sides of the river: Fi Claus, Adrian Whitehead, Tim Reid, and Ben Birchall.
