Random Life finds one of Australia’s favourite cartoonists at the height of her creative career, still making us think and laugh. It is full of all the things we’ve known and loved about Judy Horacek’s work over the years – her concerns for the environment, social justice and feminism, along with her off-the-wall quirkiness and trademark flights of fancy. With cartoons on pretty much everything you can think of, from climate change to home furnishings, existential dilemmas to umbrellas, and featuring lots of talking animals, Random Life will make you laugh a lot, and occasionally weep.

Random Life draws together over 230 recent works. With a foreword by another of this country’s comic treasures, the late John Clarke, the new collection includes cartoons from Judy’s regular spot in The Age, Melbourne and elsewhere.
