Evening is a warm and funny stroll into the twilight - a cabaret exploring all the possibilities of the night before you.

Casey Bennetto (Northcote Country Soul, KEATING!) celebrates the magic, mystery and mystique of a typical Melbourne evening. It’s a soundtrack to the desperate lonely search for a car park, an anthem for our most liveable city and a refrain about the suburban BBQ at dusk - where men will stand for hours around the grill discussing everything but ultimately nothing at all.

Evening is the tale of a couple who’ve moved from the sticks to Whitehorse Road, daring to dream about big nights out in the CBD. It’s a fable about a python-charming alcoholic rendered as an Eastern-European-style drinkers’ lament. Evening is an ode to the futility of The Southern Star Observation Wheel (where after just one month in operation, nothing can be observed) and finally a musical celebration of the world beyond the fly-wire, the freedom of the neutral zone that is the verandah where the rules of the house no longer apply.

Evening brings together Casey, Aurora Kurth (Take The ‘L’ Out Of Lover), Iain Grandage (Ben Folds, Augie March, Tim & Tex, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, Tiddas and the Whitlams) and David Abiuso (My Friend The Chocolate Cake, Steve Kilbey).

Evening is a must for lovers of music and Melbourne.
