Sara Tindley returns to Australian stages this year with a fearless new album, Wild and Unknown. Recorded as a duo with Michael Turner (Wild Pumpkins at Midnight, The Drift, Durga Babies, Spikey), the album was produced by Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Powderfinger, Pearl Jam) at La Cueva, his beautiful Tyagarah studio.
Wild and Unknown is a beautifully crafted album that stands tall in her exceptional canon of fine musical works. Tindley’s voice has never been richer, more deeply steeped in emotion. Her songs have always narrated a compelling life; as she charts a course into the Wild and Unknown she’s certain to take us with her.
"That voice sits somewhere between Lucinda Williams brighter moods and the sweeter, fragile beauty of Natalie Merchant" 4-Stars Iain Shedden, Weekend Australian
"Tindley sings with such touching sincerity and honesty she deserves to stand beside Kasey Chambers as Australia’s best female country singer."
Bruce Elder, The Age
"Pure, affecting, honest and intuitive Australian country songs. That are, once again, now stuck in my head for the forseeable future" Martin Jones, Rhythms Magazine
Joining Sara on the night will be John Flanagan who combines 60s and 70s folk singer/songwriter influences with a contemporary Americana/bluegrass sound. "He has proven himself a songwriting force to keep an eye on," Timber and Steel.
In February 2016, John released his latest album, There’s Another Way to Where You’re Going which was recorded in Nashville with producer Viktor Krauss. The album was nominated for best Folk/Roots Album in the Age Music Victoria Awards and has been a favourite on radio around the country.
“The music is just gorgeous, I absolutely love it” Felicity Urquhart, Saturday Night Country ABC Radio
