Event Duration: 150 minutes

Join us for an intimate night of poetry and songs in the round with Lucy Roleff, Kate Skinner (Rough River), Anna Cordell and Rachael Power

For this special one-off event, these four Melbourne-based artists will perform songs, collaborate and read their own poetry and the verse they admire in round-robin form.

Lucy Roleff combines melancholic harmonies with ethereal arrangements to produce a sound that is both haunting and emotionally captivating. This Paradise is shaping up to be one of 2016’s most stark and beautiful records.

Anna Cordell’s rich folk music straddles that place between light and dark where true human emotion exists, her penchant for the minor key coupled with her intricate nylon guitar playing and haunting, yet powerful voice, make for an enthralling performance. She releases her debut LP late 2017.

Kate Skinner's Rough River recordings have a certain looseness and grit that underpins folk in the old sense of the word – not as a set of readable signs, but as an act of communion. The music draws you into its atmosphere so you are fully absorbed in its story.

Rachael Power, author of Motherhood and Creativity, recently re-published due to its cult popularity, is of course, also a poet. Rachel will share some of her raw, elegant and honest verse and shall discuss why she believes poetry may be an answer for the modern time- poor creative.
