We're sure they're all very nice people.  But it's hard not to notice that, in spite of their various "careers", what they're most famous for nowadays is, well, being famous.  Their major talent lies in their ability to be recognised (Andy Warhol would be pleased).

So, with talent now seemingly an optional requirement, surely almost anyone could be qualified for the job of "celebrity".  How hard would it really be to sneak under the velvet rope separating the "VIPS" from the "non-entities"?

British comedienne Deborah Frances-White made a simple bet with the producer of her last Comedy Festival show, How to Get Almost Anyone to Want to Sleep With You: armed only with a bra top and a little courage, she could get the British press to hail her as a celebrity.

This is the heartwarming tale of how she found fame.
