On one hand, it's a season for the big disturbing questions. (Is Santa Claus real? Does God exist? Do we really have to go to Chadstone?) On the other, it's filled with celebration and irreverent delight. Wide-eyed children almost burst with anticipation, while their parents slide gently into deep reflection and gratitude. Then, just when you're overflowing with elegant contemplation, sophisticated melancholy and roast chicken, it capers into gorgeous, giddy childishness again. Back and forth. Back and forth. Christmas has always been swingin'. The most important question of all is: Can you dig it?
Yes, A Swingin' Bella Christmas is back - a finger-snappin', toe-tappin' romp through traditional carols, modern favourites and specially-written original songs of the season, executed with airy panache by a horn-laden bevy of brilliant performers known throughout the civilised world as The Bella All-Stars!
Out front, MCs Casey Bennetto and Geraldine Quinn will be joined by a panoply of special guests. Past years have seen guestage (and co-hostage) from the likes of Virginia Gay, Tripod, Eddie Perfect, Mike McLeish, Angie Hart, Ali McGregor, Alan Brough, Mikelangelo, Paul Kelly, Rebecca Barnard and more.
